Loretta
(Griffin) Dupree was reared in a Christian home by her grandparents
the Late Deacon & Deaconess Jeremiah & Loretta Bethea.
At an early age she met and turned her life over to the Lord, Jesus
Christ, being baptized at the age of 10 at the New Hope Baptist
Church, Jersey City, NJ, under the Pastorate of the Rev. James
N. Williams. She served as a faithful member until 1982 when the
Lord placed a higher calling upon her life.
While serving at New Hope, Loretta was grounded and routed in her Christian walk, serving as president and director of the Starlight Choir, president of the Junior Missionaries and as a Sunday School Teacher. Loretta was given her first part-time job. By Rev. Williams as the office assistant, she excelled in the area of administration and soon went on to become the Assistant Church Clerk and the Church Secretary (something that's has remained in her blood).
In 1980, the Lord called her to a another position, that of "A Minister's Wife", she immediately became involved with The International Association of Minister's Wives & Ministers' Widows, Inc. (IAMWMW). Here she continued to strengthen her Christian walk, immediately she began working in the following capacities on the local level she served as secretary for 10 years and President for 8 years, on the state level she served as secretary for almost 20 years.
Presently she holds the position of 2nd Vice President on the state level and continues to serve as the Secretary on the local level. She was recently appointed by President of the IAMWMW, Dr. Janie Holmes as the Editor of the HERALD, the official publication of the organization, which has a circulation of more than 1200 across the United States and Overseas. Truly her gifts have made room for her.
In 1973, Loretta married her childhood sweetheart Daniel Dupree, who the Lord chose to call to be an ambassador for Him in 1977. Loretta truly believes that their union was a match ordained by God. She serves with distinstiction as the Leading Lady of The Greater Universal Baptist Church, Bronx, NY. Here she works tirelessly with her husband at GU serving in the following capacities: Commissioner of Outreach and Evangelism, General Chairperson of the Women's Fellowship, Instructor for the Discipleship Course (New Members) and Administrative Overseer for the clerical staff.
She states that her primary goal in life is to, "Live so that God could use me in the up building of His kingdom. Her favorite scripture is Phil 4:13 "I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me." (The Good News Bible). Even though she supports and works diligently with her husband in the ministry, the lord has anointed and appointed her with her own ministry that of empowering women of all walks of life. In her spare time she is a workshop/retreat/conference and event planner as well as a Ethnic Expressions Art consultant.
The Dupree’s reside in Jersey City, NJ and they are the proud parents of three wonderful children Danielle, Reginald and, Nicole. Their son Reginald and his wife Meghan made them the proud grandparents of a grandson; Master Isaiah Daniel.
